Legal Information for Seniors
What elderly people and their families need to know about their legal rights
NLS receives funding from the Allegheny County Department of Human Services/Area Agency on Aging to provide legal services to Allegheny County residents who are 60 years of age or older. Services can be accessed by calling our senior center partners to schedule an appointment to meet with an attorney.
Legal services are provided regardless of income although the level of some services may be limited to advice or limited services due to limited funding and staffing. Our elder law program provides legal services, not ordinarily provided by our regular programs. Services include Powers of Attorney, Advanced Directives, living wills, bankruptcy, family law, consumer advice, credit card defense, employment law, housing issues, public benefits, and health law.
