Community Events
The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Black Male Leadership Development Institute (BMLDI). This year the program has expanded from a 3-day to a 5-day Summit for 50 African American youth in grades 9-12 who want more out of life than following the crowd and getting by. Youth who seek to Learn, Lead and Achieve and have a desire to stand up and be counted will benefit from a rich curriculum that will teach them the tools they need to be future leaders. The BMLDI will take place on the campus of Robert Morris University from the evening of Sunday June 14 to June19. The cost of the 5 day Summit is underwritten through grants and generous in-kind donations and is free to participants. It is a residential program with fun evening activities and entertainment planned for every day. To be considered for this year’s Summit, applicants must submit the following information:
• A completed application
• A copy of their most recent report card
• A completed questionnaire
• A signed copy of the BMLDI 2009 Terms and Conditions
